- Home Team Coach III

Home Team Coach III Position Description: Position Purpose Home for Refugees USA (HFR) is a Christian community-based organization that seeks to “empower refugees to sustain new homes, find new hope, and fully experience life.” The Home Team Coach III will be coaching Community Sponsorship teams, which we refer to as Home Teams, in helping for one year newly arrived refugees resettle in the United States. Home Teams are the core of HFR’s program. In addition to coaching Home Teams, Home Team Coach III will assist the Home Team Coach Manager supervising up to 3 Home Team Coaches. Home Teams are volunteer teams from faith and community groups partnering with refugees to help give a good start to first year of resettlement. This position is to help to develop and cultivate a community mindset for everyone involved with HFR – staff, board, partnering organizations, and volunteers – to access and leverage community resources and involvement as we all partner together to resettle families. This Home Team Coach III role is viewed as a trainer for volunteers, community supports, donors and other HRF employees. In addition to coaching, the role will help with general program support, special project areas, and fundraising events:

Duties and Responsibilities The main categories consist of the following, other duties may be assigned if an organizational need is required.

• Coordinate University of California at Irvine’s School of Nursing internship program that provides site hours to nursing students for providing telehealth to HFR families/individuals;

• Coach up to 7 Home Teams how to resettle their refugee families;

• Lead the Home Team members as an intentional learning community over the course of the year through trainings and a program flow of year;

• Provide 3 hours of coaching per Home Team per week for one year to give direction to the team to help resettle the family; and serve as an ambassador of HFR on behalf of refugees, continually cultivating relationships, and making the most efficient use and care of all donations and resources.

• Be actively throughout the week communicating with the Home Team volunteers over the online communication tool Workplace to build team community and planning. Manage your Home Teams’ WhatsApp groups for team to refugee family communication.

• Spend time identify HFR Training needs.

• Choose Delivery Methods for coaching.

• Create a Timeline for Training Development.

• Create and develop visuals to use as coaching materials


Staff meeting every other week on Tuesday mornings from 10-12pm • Weekly meeting on Wednesdays with supervisor 12% - 5 hours/week • Keeping timesheet, running list, and training calendar updated daily • Prepare information to staff regarding planned training, training guides or handouts that being utilized • Special training projects update
